AUTUMN
trenul de noapte –
pe peron o eșarfă
mototolită
the night train –
a scarf crumpled
on the platform

stejar secular –
bătrânul își privește
mâinile tăcut
secular oak-
the old man watches
his hands silently
*
orhidee mov –
ceașca ta mai păstrează
urmele de ruj
purple orchid-
your cup still with
lipstick traces
*
seară de toamnă –
odată cu miriștea
arde și cerul
autumn evening-
with the stubble field
the sky is burning too
*
porumbul cules –
deasupra cocenilor
secera lunii
harvested corn-
above the stalks
the moon sickle
*
Ziua Morților –
doar iedera aprinsă
la crucea veche
Day of the Dead-
only the burning ivy
on the old cross
*
soare la zenit –
într-o singură umbră
contopindu-ne
sun at Zenith-
merging only in a
shadow
*
toamnă-n pădure-
în paleta de culori
nici pic de galben
autumn in the forest-
in the easel colors
no bit of yellow
*
cade o frunză –
în oglinda lacului
tremură o stea
a leaf falls –
in the lake mirror
a star trembles

sunet de tălăngi –
se destramă agale
valul de ceață

copilăriei

copii emigranți –
invadată de grauri
via din bătrâni

ciulini duși de vânt –
cu statut de emigranți
fiii satului
wind-blown thistles –
with the status of emigrants
the sons of the village

țipăt de cocor –
creasta muntelui Fuji
ieșind din ceață
crane squeal-
mount Fugi s knoll
emearging from the fog

amurg de toamnă –
sub povara luminii
cade o frunză
autumnal sunset-
under the light s weight
a leaf falls

vântul prin trestii –
spiritul zeului Pan
bântuie valea
wind through reeds –
the spirit of god Pan
haunts the valley

o frunză în vânt –
văduva acoperind
geamul odăii
a leaf in the wind –
the widow covering
the chamber window

frunzișul mai rar –
luna amestecată
cu gutuile
scattered foliage-
the moon mixed
with the quinces

vechea troiță –
toamna aprinde frunze
la sfinți scorojiți
the ancient cross-
autumn lights the leaves
of the parched saints

moara-n ruină –
timpul măcinând
vechile ziduri
ruined mil-
time grinding
the old walls

peste sat ceața –
bătrânul își aprinde
vechea narghilea
fog over the village –
the old man lights up
his old hookah

aripa frântă –
pentru bătrânul cocor
ultima toamnă

petale în vânt –
barometrul iubirii
o crizantemă
petals in the wind –
the barometer of love

plaja pustie –
scoica ascunde în ea
vuietul mării
empty beach-
the shell hides inside

blocaj în trafic –
o frunză-ngălbenită
cade agale
traffic jam
a leafy leaf
falls slowly

ziua recoltei –
vântul culege din prun
ultima frunză
harvest day –

ripped off by the wind

clepsidra spartă –
în bătaia vântului
tot timpul pierdut
broken hourglass –
in the wind exposure

singurătate –
discret la fereastră bat
razele lunii
loneliness –

cod galben de vânt –
în oglinda lacului
norii au riduri

bătrânul jocheu

luna aliniată
cu două gutui
conjunctures at window –

cânt de bufniță-
bătrâna își aprinde
candela veche
